What is your favorite race, and why?
Winter Winds Road Races, of course, since I'm the race director! But I would have to say that I like Chicago Marathon! It was my first marathon 2008 and it was my fastest marathon in 2015. Plus I always get to see family when I go up there.
What is your favorite product at Fleet Feet, and why?
After much hesitation to be fitted for a bra, I'm currently loving the Brooks women's Rebound Racer Sports Bra. It is soo much better and comfortable than the other bra's I've been wearing and I feel more confident. I'm also all about the sports shield for chaffing. Nice to have two separate bottles for the bottom and for other areas.
What has been your most interesting race experience (give details)?
I guess you could say my most interesting race experience was winning Strolling Jim 40 miler in 2009. I didn't expect a win, and it was also on a longer course due to flooding on some of the roads. Fun running a race and not sure if you are going the right direction. It was also the first and only time that I actually had a crew.
What is your favorite quote, and why?
PTGF - Pain is Temporary and Glory is Forever.
I was born in Waukegan, IL moved to Cullman in October of 1992 and now live in Madison County. My love of running began while in High School where I ran for Cullman's Cross Country and Track team from 1998 - 2002. I continued running throughout college on UAH's Cross Country and Track teams from 2002-2006, while obtaining a degree in accounting. Post college, I began assisting with the Fleet Feet Running programs, starting with No Boundaries. After a short break from college, I returned and obtained my Masters of Accountancy. I currently work as a Revenue Accountant utilizing my degrees daily. For the past four years I have been the director of the Winter Winds 2 & 4 Mile Races held every February. I am also on the Rocket City Marathon and Cotton Row Committees. In the fall of 2014, I received my RRCA Coaching Certification. I enjoy helping people achieve their running goals and hope to help more individuals to do so either through continuing to assist with the Fleet Feet Training Programs, currently Next Steps and Marathon, or through one-on-one coaching.
