What is your favorite race, and why?
My favorite race is Cotton Row 10k. There are several reasons. First, it's sentimental because it was the race that got me started on running. I appreciate traditions, and Cotton Row is a great Memorial Day tradition. I enjoy the festive atmosphere and the crowd. I like that it's so fast out front. The course has character. It's an incredibly challenging 10k because of the course and the weather, yet it's accessible to beginners because of the crowd support
What is your favorite product at Fleet Feet, and why
My favorite product at Fleet Feet isn't a product at all. It's the service. Every employee is well-trained, knowledgeable about running and very helpful. They genuinely want every customer to be satisfied and happy. It's a pleasure to shop at Fleet Feet. Outside of the service, though, I'd probably say that my favorite product is my Addaday muscle roller. It hurts, but it hurts in a good way
My toughest challenge in running
was to finish a marathon in under three hours. It took a couple of years of training and trying and failing. The day I did that, the race was nearly cancelled because of tornado warnings in the area and the weather was warm. Sub-3 is right on the edge of my capabilities, and getting it done took a lot of discipline and hard work, and a lot of luck, too. My next challenge is to try to repeat a sub-3 hour marathon as a masters runner. Time will tell if I can conquer that challenge.
