What is my BHAG? Now that I have "cut my teeth" on Mountain Mist, which is considered a real trail run (and one of the hardest in Alabama), I am starting to imagine what it would be like to do true ultra-marathons in the 50 mile and up range. I am putting this as a beyond 2016 goal, but it may come sooner. - Dave
Short Term Goals
For 2016, my primary goal is to improve my times in every distance that I can which will include the 5K, 10K, 10 Miler, 15K, Half Marathon, and Marathon.
Long Term Goals
My long term running goals are really to keep running and not get injured. Having been a swimmer for most of my past life and now unable to do it as often due to ear issues, I would like to keep running for as long as my body lets me.

Goal Races this Season
From a very early age up until I finished college, I was a competitive swimmer. I swam for the Huntsville Swim Association (HSA) under Brooke Pate who taught me many things about dedication and work ethic.
Swimming for Bob Jones, I was a two time state champion which helped me to be a walk-on to the University of Minnesota's Men's Swimming and Diving Team. Also while in high school, I tried out cross country my sophomore year and found that I enjoyed running. I wouldn't get back into running until later.
After graduating, I worked in Minnesota for about a year before moving back to Huntsville. Once back down in Alabama, I tried a little bit of running and even reconnected with Brooke to swim at a Master's level for HSA. After too many ear issues from swimming for over 20 years, I decided to cut back on swimming and focus on other activities.
I ran my first marathon in 2011 in Columbus, Ohio. I took a few years off and start getting back into running again in 2013. Since then, I have steadily increased my training and my abilities which leads me to present times.
